Porsche Have a Flat? A Guide On How to Change a Tire from a Porsche Dealer

Find a Safe Place to Park

If you’re on the road when you get a flat tire, pull over somewhere away from traffic or other hazards. Try to find the flattest space possible to park your Porsche and turn on your hazard lights to signal your presence to other drivers.

Locate Your Spare Tire and Tools

Use your car manual to identify where your spare tire is stored along with your tire jack and lug wrench.

Loosen the Lug Nuts

Apply your lug wrench to the lug nuts on your flat tire in a counterclockwise motion until the lug nuts are loosened but not completely removed.

Jack Up Your Porsche

Place your tire jack underneath the even section of your vehicle’s frame near the flat tire. You can consult your car’s manual to identify the appropriate spot. Once the tire jack is positioned, use it to raise your vehicle until the damaged tire is off the ground.

Remove the Lug Nuts and the TireĀ

Unscrew the lug nuts the rest of the way and completely remove them, placing them in a safe place to collect them later. Once they’re removed, pull the tire towards you until it is free from the hub behind it and gently place it to the side.

Mount the Spare TireĀ

Align the spare tire with the lug bolts to fit it onto the hub. Once it is aligned, find the lug nuts you set aside and hand-tighten them to the newly mounted tire.

Lower your Vehicle

Use the tire jack to lower your Porsche back to the ground and then tighten the lug nuts as securely as possible with the lug wrench.

Check the Tire Pressure

When your spare tire is securely fastened, stow your equipment and test the tire pressure to make sure it’s safe to drive. Once you’ve achieved the all-clear for your tire pressure, you’ll be able to head to an appropriate service center to repair or replace your old tire.
